Fees?
Fees for residential closings in Georgia are typically set as opposed to an hourly rate.
There are typically 4 attorney/title related fees:
- Title Exam $150 (The title is searched in the courthouse to make certain good title can be transferred)
- Attorney Fee $450 (Includes attorney and paralegal time preparing for, conducting and disbursing all documents and funds from the closing)
- Title Insurance for lender and owner. Lender insurance is $2 per &1000 of coverage and owner is an additional $1.50 per $1000 of coverage. (Title insurance insures that you and the lender are protected for your investment from title concerns that may not be apparent by title exam).
- Contract Consultation: $175 per hour
Often a closing will require the preparation of additional documents. If this occurs those fees will be reasonable and explained (Examples are Power Of Attorneys).
